In Loving Memory of Aiden

Many of you have been following the journey of an extraordinary little boy and his fight with Neuroblastoma. Sadly, after years of bravery, Aiden lost his battle with cancer last week. His family and friends would like to thank the community at Harrington Grove and St Justin’s Catholic School for the love and support throughout this time.
As many of you have been part of this journey with Aiden, we would like to share his story with you and show how one courageous little boy has created an everlasting bond in our community.
Before his third birthday Aiden was diagnosed with high risk stage 4 Neuroblastoma, which is a rare and almost exclusively, a childhood cancer. After numerous visits to the hospital and specialists, Aiden was beginning to show positive signs and the good news spread through the community.
In April 2014, Aiden was selected by Make-A-Wish Foundation to fulfil his dream of finding Nemo in Queensland. This was one of his favourite movies that he loved to watch over again during his treatment. Aiden’s wish bought him so much joy that he would have loved to give the gift of a wish to other children in need. All throughout this time the Harrington Grove community have banded together in support to raise money for the Hyde family and cancer research through various events that have included a trivia night and a community car wash.
Earlier this year, Aiden inspired the community to organise a fundraising carwash so he could wash a fire engine and raise money for others. This event was arranged for this coming Sunday 1st November and we would like to advise you that the carwash will be going ahead as planned and is open to all residents of Harrington Grove and the wider community. Your support is greatly appreciated.
