A big welcome to our new Health and Recreation Manager, Daniel Watson Hayes

We are really excited to announce that we have recently appointed Daniel to the position of Health and Recreation Manager. Daniel’s role is to enhance the level of community engagement through the implementation of a number of sport and recreation programs, which may include an After School Program, an Over 55's Social program, a Disability Program, School Holiday Programs including sports clinics and arts/crafts/games, as well as Family Fun Days. Daniel will also be overseeing the gym operations and so you may see him often sitting in the new office space immediately outside the gym. We’d love to hear from all residents about the types of programs you’d like to see implemented in the community, so please continue to place your suggestions in the box provided, or drop us an email or simply have a chat to Daniel when you see him. If we get enough suggestions for one particular type of program, we’ll look into giving it a go!

Increased monitoring of gym access cards

Unfortunately many people have been asked to leave the gym of late due to an increase in the number of people breaching the terms and conditions of using the gym facilities.

Please note that repeated breach of the conditions will result in a suspension of access to the gym. As a reminder to all residents:

-          Users must always have their access card with them at the gym

-          The access card must be the resident’s own card and not a family member’s/friend’s card

-          Residents must present their card when asked by staff, even if it’s during a workout, therefore we advise you to keep it on you if you don’t want your workout interrupted

-          Children under 14yrs are not allowed in any area of the gym or fitness rooms

-          Children 14yrs - 15yrs must always be supervised by an adult resident and both must have their own access cards with them whilst in the gym

-          All residents need to have completed an induction before using the gym due to insurance reasons

-          Rude or aggressive behaviour towards any member of staff will not be tolerated whilst using any facilities within the Country Club

Failure to comply with the above code of conduct/conditions will result in users being asked to leave the premises and/or your gym registration being cancelled. Gym registration can also be cancelled due to behaviour that is considered to be threatening, disturbs other gym users or results in damage to gym equipment or property.

New cameras are about to be installed in the gym and increased staff surveillance procedures will be implemented immediately to curb this current issue.

Finally thank you to all of those residents who have shown their support and respect for staff when their cards have been checked. Please do continue to inform staff if you are aware of any behaviour that is contrary to the conditions of entry to the gym.

Bikes/scooters on tennis courts

Could all residents please ask your children not to ride their scooters and bikes on the tennis courts? Staff are regularly asking children to take their bikes/scooters off the courts as it is doing enormous damage to the court surface which can be very costly to repair. Thanks for your co-operation!

Spring Fair - this Sun 28 August

We would like thank residents who have purchased tickets to this year’s Spring Fair! For those who have yet to do so, the weather report is looking good and tickets are still available via our website at www.harringtongrove.com.au/springfair. The day will be filled with many fun activities for both adults and children and we look forward to having yet another exciting and successful year!

Please see below a couple of reminders to ensure that the day goes well:

  • If you are driving to the Club, please follow staff directions into the overflow carpark. We would encourage residents to walk if at all possible to avoid congestion at the County Club
  • Please also be considerate of residents living in the side-streets near the Club, by parking in the designated parking areas at the Club where possible and not on residents’ verges or across their driveways
  • Council rangers may be around this year, so please ensure that you obey all parking signs to avoid a possible fine
  • We are having a stage with live music all day and the noise levels will be elevated between 11am - 5pm. Set up for the event will begin at 6.30am so there will be a lot of activity at the Country Club from this time onwards

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
